About the image:
Lake Matheson is renowned for its reflections. The lake is well surrounded by trees that protect it from the wind, resulting in a generally still water that creating a reflection. During my travels, I have learned that the wind is calmer in the morning than later in the day. Therefore, to maximize my chances to capture this reflection, I got up early before sunrise and headed to the lake. I was rewarded with a very still water, great contrast and amazing orange light cutting its way through the trees. The reflection together with the colors in the image is what makes this image unique. The orange light coming from the left is complementary to the rich, deep blue color of the lake and the skies.
